Tax litigation: French telecom operator Orange wins before the French Council of State

French mobile phone and Internet provider Orange received a favourable ruling by French Council of State on 13th November – this decision settles a 10-year-old tax dispute. For this exceptional case (2.2 billion euros with default interests), Orange was assisted by Stéphane Austry and Benoît Foucher (CMS Francis Lefebvre Avocats), Gauthier Blanluet (Sullivan & Cromwell LLP), and Briard law firm, with François-Henri Briard and Pierre Masquart.
